I just wanted to say a big thank you for the last two years. I couldn't have wished for a better landlord and landlady. You made me feel so welcome and you were so super helpful and supportive with everything. You deserve a medal for that! Keep up this good work! It's really appreciated. No, seriously. It's quite a step moving to a different country and starting here from scratch, especially after I used to live together with my parents, so it wasn't just moving to a different country but also living by myself and "growing up". You made that so much easier. I think there was no time of day when you weren't approachable or couldn't help - you were always there for me, and that is more than you could wish for as a student.
